Event Name Women get the vote 1918
Start Date 6th Feb 2012
End Date
Duration N/A
Description

On this day in 1918, women were given the vote... providing they were over 30 years old, were householders or married to a householder or held a university degree! It would be another 10 years before women had the same voting rights as men when the Equal Franchise Act received Royal Assent on 2 July 1928. Why not use today to encourage voter registration.
